Generations of Craftsmenship
In 2013, John handed ownership of the business over to his son, Terry and son-in-law, Lyndon. Terry handles the business end of things, which includes, making up bids and quotes and meeting with customers, and Lyndon handles the on-site work.
John Miller started in construction when he was the age of 15 yrs old. At the age of 21 he was painting and doing some light carpentry work.
In 1982 John started his own business as a painter and did some light construction work on the side.
In 1984, John & Lilly bought a house in Frytown and built their first shop which was 24 x 24. They soon realized this wasn’t big enough.
In 1991, John built a house on the east side of Kalona and included a 30 x 40 shop thinking this would be big enough. But not long after finishing the building, they found themselves adding on once again.
In 1993, they added a spray room, and in 2000, they tore the addition off and rebuilt it with a bigger spray room, which is what is currently being used.
